WTI Crude Oil Weekly options on WTI Crude Oil futures
CME Group is the only exchange to offer WTI Crude Oil Weekly options, with expirations every day of the trading week, as well as benchmark Monthly options. WTI Weekly options are the most precise, flexible, and cost-effective tools to hedge weekend headline risk, express views on mid-week announcements, including the E.I.A Petroleum status report, or react to market-moving events such as OPEC meetings or geopolitical events.
WTI Crude Oil Weekly options are listed every day for the four nearest weeks. For example, assume a month begins on a Monday and it’s the first of the month – four Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday options, as well as monthly options, will be available to trade. As each weekly option expires, listings will be added to the next available week of the listing cycle, resulting in always having the nearest four daily expirations available.
The contract specifications for WTI Weekly options are physically settled into WTI Crude Oil futures. The contract size is 1,000 barrels and the option premiums are quoted in USD .01 per barrel increments, making one tick equivalent to USD 10.
