Announcing New Private Google Cloud Region and Co-Location Facility for CME Group Markets

Key milestone paves the way for CME Group to migrate to Google Cloud’s industry-first specialized platform for capital markets

A new private Google Cloud region and co-location facility in Aurora, Illinois will support CME Group’s global futures and options trading and offer derivatives traders cloud-based, ultra-low-latency networking and high-performance computing.

With close proximity to CME Group’s current data center campus, and with disaster recovery facilities in Dallas, clients can choose between self-managed infrastructure in the co-location facility or Google Cloud’s specialized infrastructure-as-a-service offering, both with equal network latency to the exchange.

Key features

  • Next-generation cloud technology
  • Expanded access to cloud services and AI
  • Broader range of customized connectivity options
  • Faster product development
  • Enhanced operational efficiencies

Technical content to support clients throughout the migration is now available. Additional information will be published regularly on this page and announced via the CME Globex Notices.
