SUBJECT: Delisting of Al Etihad Gold Refinery DMCC (ALET) Gold Brand
Effective July 31, 2020, 6 p.m. Central Time (CT), the Commodity Exchange, Inc. (COMEX or Exchange) has suspended registration (warranting) of the Al Etihad Gold Refinery DMCC (ALET) gold brand (Brand Mark: Company logo of small 'E' inside larger 'G' with half circles reading "Al Etihad Gold" above and "Dubai UAE" below) for delivery against the Exchange’s Gold Futures contract.
As such, any unwarranted ALET gold (100-troy ounce bars and kilo bars) at Exchange-approved depositories will no longer be deemed, or reported as, eligible for registration.
Any currently registered (warranted) ALET gold through 6 p.m. CT on July 31, 2020 will continue to be deliverable against the Exchange’s Gold Futures contract until such warrant is cancelled. Once the warrant is cancelled, the material cannot be re-warranted until further notice.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will be notified of this brand suspension during the week of August 3, 2020 via the weekly notification procedures set out in Part 40 of the CFTC’s Regulations.
