Are you ready to go for gold? On June 4, CME Group is launching the Go for Gold Precious Metals Trading Challenge. You'll have the opportunity to practice trading highly liquid Precious Metals products, including global benchmarks such as Gold, Silver, Platinum, and Palladium futures. Trade in a risk-free environment while competing against other traders for the chance to win the grand prize of a 1 oz. bar of gold.*

*Participants will only be eligible to receive a 1 oz. gold bar if permitted in accordance with the applicable laws of their jurisdiction.

This trading challenge is designed to give you the opportunity to test-drive trading strategies and gain valuable exposure to precious metals. Through our daily educational videos and courses, you'll learn about the key benefits of trading our suite of precious metal contracts.

Prizes for eligible participants

The grand prize winner for first place of the trading challenge will be a gold bar, while the second and third place finishers will receive a cash prize.

 

This competition is open to residents in the United States (US), Canada (CA) excluding Quebec, *Brazil (BR), United Kingdom (UK), Germany (DE), Netherlands (NL), Switzerland (CH), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Republic of Korea (KR), Taiwan (TW), and Japan (JP).

*Residents of Brazil must have a bank account in the United States to be eligible to receive a prize.

Get Started

  1. REGISTER: (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY) Register free with the CME Institute, which is where you will access the trading simulator.
  2. PREPARE: Arm yourself with product knowledge and practice before the contest starts by completing the pre-competition tasks outlined.
  3. COMPETE: Test your skills in the trading challenge beginning Sunday, June 4 at 5:00 p.m. CT / 22:00 UTC.

Competition Details

  • Throughout the Competition, all trades will be completed in the Challenge Simulator
  • All traders will begin with a virtual account of $100,000, with the goal of increasing the balance as much as possible by the conclusion of the competition
  • The top three eligible traders with the highest account balance and completed Eligibility Checklist at the end of five days will earn cash prizes and bragging rights

Overall Leaderboard
First Place Prize: 1 oz. gold bar*
