As in past challenges, the top three overall finishers who have completed all the education eligibility requirements will earn a cash prize.

This competition is open to residents in the United States (US), Canada (CA) excluding Quebec, United Kingdom (UK), Germany (DE), Netherlands (NL), Switzerland (CH), Republic of Korea (KR), Taiwan (TW), and Japan (JP).

Get Started

  1. REGISTER: (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY) Register free with the CME Institute, which is where you will access the trading simulator.
  2. PREPARE: Arm yourself with product knowledge and practice before the contest starts by completing the pre-competition tasks outlined.
  3. COMPETE: Test your skills in the trading challenge beginning Sunday, Feb 6 at 5:00 p.m. CT / 22:00 UTC.

Competition Details

  • Throughout the Competition, all trades will be completed in the Challenge Simulator
  • All traders will begin with a virtual account of $100,000, with the goal of increasing the balance as much as possible by the conclusion of the competition
  • Winners must complete all of the Eligibility Checklist items before the trading challenge ends
  • Overall Winners: The top three traders with the highest account balance and completed Eligibility Checklist at the end of five days will earn cash prizes and bragging rights
  • Asset Class Winners: The top trader in each asset class with the highest account balance and completed Eligibility Checklist at the end of five days will earn cash prizes and bragging rights
    • Energy (Micro WTI)
    • Equity Index (Micro S&P 500, Micro Nasdaq-100, Micro Russell 2000, Micro Dow)
    • Cryptocurrencies (Micro Bitcoin, Micro Ether)
    • FX (Micro EUR/USD, Micro AUD/USD)
    • Interest Rates (Micro Treasury Yield)
    • Precious Metals (Micro Gold, Micro Silver)
  • Winners can only claim a single prize (overall or one of the asset class leaderboards, but not both)
  • Overall leaderboard winners are ineligible for asset class leaderboard prizes
