Adding API IDs or Emails to Existing DataMine Orders
Learn how to add API IDs or emails to existing DataMine orders in this step-by-step guide.
Creating an API ID or Email
For an email, register your email with CME Group.
For an API ID, create your CME Group API ID. Your CME Group account will need to have two-factor authentication enabled. This may take 24 hours to be active. For step-by-step instructions please refer to the below:
- Sign into your CME Group Account at cmegroup.com (click login button in the top right corner).
- Click here to go directly to your API Management page or go to cmegroup.com and click the human silhouette icon and select “Profile”
- In My Profile, go to API Management and select Create API ID at the bottom of the page
Under type, select "OAuth"
- Note: all API IDs must begin with API_ (e.g., API_api_id_name)
- Additional guidance on API ID Management and Password Reset can be found here
Linking CME Group API ID or Email to Existing DataMine Order
- Once the email or API ID is created, the order primary, backup, and/or technical contacts can return to the Data Services page and go to More → Service Credentials. The Service Credentials page will show all previously entitled API IDs and emails across CME Group services.
- There, click Add to add a service credential. When adding the credential(s), select the company profile, enter that it’s a DataMine API ID or DataMine Access ID, and add the new API ID or email under Member ID. The format should be “api_xyz” or “xyz@domain.com,” respectively.
- Once the Service Credential is added, click the hyperlinked New Service Credential (API ID or email).
- This takes you to a page to manage the entitlements for the particular service credential, where you can select which datasets to provision.
- Click ADD to add the Service Entitlements and select the desired data entitlements. Click CONFIRM once complete.
