Global Investor Group International Exchange of the Year for Asia – CME Group was recognized for a number of relevant and innovative products launched in the Asian-Pacific market, including Australian Wheat FOB (Platts) futures, Japanese Yen-denominated TOPIX futures, as well as the listing of the first-ever U.S. index futures on the S&P500 and DJIA in Taiwan with TAIFEX.

Risk Exchange of the Year – CME Group was recognized by Risk Magazine as Exchange of the Year at the 2018 Risk Awards for our approach to including clients in discussions around risk management, product design and price discovery. Equally noteworthy were the successful launches of several new products including Wednesday Weekly Treasury Options which offer greater precision for trading and hedging mid-week during major events. 

FOW Exchange of the Year/Trade Repository of the Year – FOW's judges highlighted the record levels of open interest in 2017 across CME Group’s markets as well as the performance of global benchmarks such as WTI, which hit an average daily volume of 1.5 million contracts during the judging period.  We were also recognized for the return of Russell 2000 futures with 91% of open interest switching to the market since the July 2017 launch.

Global Capital Exchange of the Year/Clearing House of the Year – CME Group’s “exchange and clearing combo” was recognized by Global Capital for creating efficiencies through the trade lifecycle, focusing on innovation and launching new products and services.

World’s Most Valuable Exchange Brand – For the third year in a row, CME Group was named Most Valuable Exchange Brand by Brand Finance, a London-based consultancy, with a brand value estimated to be $1.3 billion. 

Markets Choice Best Global Exchange Group – CME Group was recognized by Markets Media as the best global exchange group in 2017.

Evening Standard Business Award for Deal of the Year – CME Group was recognized by leading UK newspaper The Evening Standard for our planned acquisition of NEX Group, plc. in 2018, which will deliver operational efficiencies across cash, repo and futures products in U.S. Treasuries and FX, as well as benefit market participants seeking to lower trading costs and manage risk more effectively.

E-FX Initiative of the Year and Best E-Derivatives Platform – CME Group was voted the winner of two categories at the 2018 FX Week e-FX Awards. The wins followed 18 months of launches and product releases, culminating in CME FX Link going live in March.
