Dow Jones US Real Estate Index

Product Overview

Dow Jones U.S. Real Estate Index Futures provide a way to capitalize on changes in the real estate sector of the stock market and better manage commercial real estate exposure, primarily to REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). They also enable you to:

  • Gain broad-based exposure to the commercial real estate market
  • Benefit from the significant advantages of an exchange-traded vehicle

Things to Know:

  • Contracts settle to the value of the DJUSRE Index, which is comprised primarily of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs)
  • REIT prices are good proxies for market valuations of U.S. commercial property
    • REIT price dynamics directly and clearly mirror changing trends in leasing rates for commercial property
    • They also mirror movements in commercial real estate valuations arising from vacancies, development costs, and property transaction values
  • Contracts trade solely electronically, on the CME Globex platform
    • Virtually around the clock, around the world
    • Complete price transparency and anonymity
  • CME Clearing matches and settles all trades and guarantees counterparty creditworthiness
